Agnus Dei

The Agnus Dei church was built in 1910 and belonged to a nursing home. Later this home was used as an orphanage.

In 1875 the Franciscan sisters left Germany for this place which at that time was in the possession of the Count of Bourcieu Montereux. The estate was more than an acre.

In 1908, the count transferred the estate to the sisters. They founded the Agnus Dei church in 1910 which was dedicated to St. Antoine. The other buildings served as a Catholic school. After the First World War, a nursing home was founded called the Gensterbloem which housed 38 elderly people.

In September 2002 the estate was abandoned. Shortly thereafter there was a fire that destroyed many of the buildings. It is a fairly familiar urbex location.
